Based on the principles established by Art. 6, comma 1 of Ministerial Decree 270/2004 for the university sector and by Art. 7, comma 2 of Presidential Decree 212/2005 for the AFAM sector, higher education institutions can organise foundation educational activities for access to Laurea study courses, proposing foundation courses (corsi propedeutici), even for less than one year, to bolster the requisites for admission requested for enrolment in Italian higher education courses.
University of Siena has activated the “Foundation Course” in English from the A.Y. 2020/2021. It will be designed for international students who:
- do not possess the minimum years of schooling (12) required for enrollment in a Degree Course
- possess the minimum years of schooling required, but do not pass the mandatory admission test to enroll to a course of the School of Economics and Management
You can apply via our online application system https://apply.unisi.it/ where you can find many useful information to apply, on the steps to be followed for the application and how to carry out the pre-enrollment procedure by contacting the Italian diplomatic authority (Embassy or Consulate) in the country of residence (using Universitaly portal)
To be admitted at the “Foundation Course”, students must have the secondary school diploma and a certified knowledge of English at least at B1 level. No entrance knowledge of the Italian language is assumed.
In order to take part in the "Foundation Year" is required a tuition fee of €3.500,00 for student (+16 euro for virtual stamp).
