REASERCH AND SURGICAL TRAINING
He trained as neuro-otologist and oto-neuro surgeon with Prof. D. Nuti (Siena, Italy), Prof. D. Zee (Baltimore, USA), Prof. A. Bronstein (London, UK), Prof. V. Colletti (Verona, Italy) and Prof. R. Shannon (Los Angeles, USA).
Co-author (with Prof. S. Ramat) of a patent for a device aimed at the functional evaluation of vestibulo-ocular reflex (patent n. PCT/EP2009/000611). The device FHIT (functional head impulse test) is currently commercialized by BEON Soultions.
More than 2000 surgical procedures performed in the otorhinolaryngology field with particular interest in otology e lateral skull base procedures.
TEACHING AND REASERCH AREAS
Participation as speaker to more than 100 national and international meetings.
Lectures in otonuerology at the meetings of the Italian Society of Otolaryngology, Italian Group of Vestiblology meetings and American Academy of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, Barany society.
Instructor at mastoid dissection courses at the Otology Today Association (Padova, Italy)
Member of the Barany society and of the EAONO (European Academy of Otology and Neuro-Otology).
Scientific Secretary of the next EAONO meeting (Siena, September 2014).

The present research areas are: clinical otoneurology, Implantable hearing and vestibular devices, immunological mechanisms of vestibular diseases, etiology and pathogenesis of vestibular neuritis and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, long term effect of unilateral vestibular lesions, effects of electromagnetic fields on auditory and vestibular system.
