Students must have attended a course in basic Greek History, or they should pass a written test (to be prepared on Bettalli M. (ed.), Storia greca, Carocci, Roma 2006). Knowledge of the ancient greek is strongly recommended.
The course aims to investigate the forms that combine practical or legal concepts in mythic narratives. Different contexts will be taken into consideration, from the Homeric texts to Hellenistic testimonies.
