Through reading and direct analysis of the texts of the most cultured and complex poet of the twentieth century, the course aims to provide students with methods and tools of interpretation of contemporary poetry.
A good knowledge of the Italian language and its literature.
We recommend the reading of all poems by Zanzotto (from the ‘Oscar’ edition, 2011) and their notes of comment (in the ‘Meridiani’ edition, 1999). Further optional bibliography will be provided during the course.
Those unable to attend assiduously lessons are requested to contact the lecturer (after class or in office hours, not by email) for an outline on the bibliography in the program. This also applies to Erasmus students.
The final exam will be oral. Attending students will be examinated especially on the texts analyzed in class and on the critical profile of each book by Zanzotto.
