The course aims to cover the current anthropological debate on kinship and familiy,focunsig in particular on social and biological filiation.
Starting from the observation of new families in contemporary society (de facto families, recombinant families, single parent families, adoptive families, homosexual familiesfamilies), characterized precisely by a certain informality and instability), the course will focus on following topics:
demographic transition and family structures; social and cultural patterns of reproduction, household types and residential rules; divorce and family recombinant; gender and kinship; the feminization of kinship; making parents; parents and assisted reproduction; sexual orientation and kinship: homosexual parenting; transnational adoptions.
