The course aims to give a basic knowledge of the literary (but also philosophical and historiographic) heritage of the medieval-humanistic millennium and of its relationships with modern literatures and the arts
An outline of the history of European literature of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance in Latin language through centuries and authors and genres, with commented reading of translated texts and particular attention to topics to be found also in modern literatures.
