A. Course. The students will be guided through the basics of corpus linguistics and to a basic understanding of the linguistic, structural, semantic, pragmatic and cultural elements which might be relevant in the translation process. They will be introduced to
• the key theoretical issues involved in the translation process,
• the use of the main translation and documentation tools and techniques available - including online software, dictionaries, glossaries, search engines, corpora etc.
B. Lettorato (Communicative Competence in English) The communicative competence classes require the students to attend 6 hours per week annual courses with a native speaker trained teacher of English as well as carry out some activities scheduled in the self-access laboratory.
