Students must have passed Foundations of Private Law.
The course aims to get the students acquainted with legal comparison, and its characteristic methods.
The course will deal with some important issues faced by private law, illustrating the different solutions offered by each national system, in the context of the process of harmonization of European private law.
Main topics: The subject matter and the purpose of legal comparison. A comparative view of contract in Civil Law and Common Law. A comparative view of torts in Civil Law and Common Law. Collective remedies for consumers.
