This course presupposes a level B2 as a prerequisite.
It explores a variety of authentic texts and articles taken from magazines such as The Economist, focusing on:
- the macro-structure of the articles
- different standpoints and perspectives on the topic treated
- specialised lexis and related grammar.
- textual devices such as cohesion.
The students will be guided towards improving their reading skills as well as expanding their reading comprehension and vocabulary in the field of the register of Economics and Business.
The exam at the end of the course is a written exam and will consist in a reading comprehension based on an article in the field of Economics and Business. There will be multiple-choice, True/False and Open questions, as well as exercises testing grammar and terminology. The exam will last 90 minutes and will be marked /30 (out of thirty).
