The course intends to enable students to understand German texts of low and more complex difficulty and to express elementary concepts both in oral and written form.
Individual and in class translation exercises. Work in class on correction of the papers.

Reading and translation in class.
Oral Exam. In order to be admitted to the exam, the student has to pass the written and oral lecture test which takes place every year in June.
