The goal of this course is to train students to interpret data effectively and to use concepts of cost accounting analysis in making decisions in a business environment. In this regard, the students will learn the basic concepts of the cost production and its structure, with particular reference to the production factors and their classifications. The students will develop abilities useful for the cost accounting analysis. In particular, the students will learn the basic concepts of the break even analysis and will acquire the skills necessary to apply it for tactic and strategic decisions.
The course also aims to teach participants to analyse the process of value creation that occurs within any business unit, taking into consideration the techniques that could be applied to pursue this aim and, therefore, control the formation of the production cost.
In this stage of the course the students will learn the fundamental of the “variance analysis” to be used to support decision making and management control.
Students will acquire knowledge and develop skills related to the design, implementation and use of cost accounting principles and tools. At the same time, students will learn how to analyse cost accounting data and turn them into information useful to support operational, tactic and strategic decisions.
