The course intends to make known the basic issues of medieval history, even in a historiographic perspective, through the lens of of the history of medieval society, and it is offered to students that take the first exam of Medieval History.

Tthe oral examination will focus on textbook indicated in the bibliography, as well as on the content of of the lessons.The student must show mastery of the subjects studied and ability to critically rework them, returning them with properties of language.
The course will focus on major topics of social, political and economic life of the Middle Ages: population trends, forms of the settlements small and large business, social organization of the countryside and the cities, credit and banking, the dialectic between classes, forms of 'assistance, the relationship between politics and economics, institutional forms, daily life. Particular attention will be given to the sources of medieval history.
