The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of the core notions of aesthetics. The first lessons are dedicated to those figures who, from ancient times, have contributed to the establishment of the reference point over the specific problems and categories of the discipline. The offering will also comprehend the reading of passages from the main works by the authors discussed. The other objective is to guide participants through the study of a monographic subject. This year’s theme – Esthetics and theoty of Avantgarde - serves as a platform to the observation of aesthetics’ development in the 20th century. Frontal lessons are also enriched by regular examinations, both in each lesson and at the end of every unit. In-depth meetings for small groups are provided as well. The professor encourages students to produce, at their own discretion, short essays.
