The level of knowledge of the language to be achieved is B1 +, i.e. slightly higher than the B1 Level as indicated in the Common European Frame of Reference (CEFR). CULTURE AND TRANSLATION COURSE III:
i) The course will focus on the reading, translation and analysis of various types of texts and different styles of language (original documents, extracts from books and essays, articles, letters, surveys, reports) related to historical, economic, social and current issues. In particular, texts concerning the main events in the history of Russia, Russian society and current affairs, the economy of contemporary Russia and the peculiarities of the Russian national character will be examined. Preparatory exercises of memorization, synthesis and oral and written reproduction of the material will be performed, as well as analyses of the thematic lexicon and preparation of specific glossaries. ii) In addition, texts related to various aspects of daily life in Russia will be read and commented, and comparisons will be made in order to find similarities and differences between Italy and Russia in the areas examined.
iii) Fragments of works of both classical and contemporary literature will also be analyzed and translated in order to provide students with techniques of translation and analysis of the literary text.
