Stoichiometry and calculus
Properties of the elements: s-block, p-block properties (main compounds, main oxidation states etc.). Transition series elements properties (main compounds, main oxidation states etc.).
Coordination compounds nomenclature, the coordination bond (MO theory), Crystal Field theory,
Symmetry applied to molecules: point group symmetry of molecules and point group determination of a molecule. Mulliken notation of symmetry. Point group tables and their use.
Principles of UV-visible spectroscopy.
Principles of chemical kinetics, reaction mechanisms of coordination compounds.
Redox chemistry of coordination compounds, principles of electron transfer (Taube and Marcus theories).
