Foundation Year

Foundation Year (A.Y. 2019/2020)

Collaboration between the University for Foreigners in Siena and the University of Siena

Given the success of the year-long preparatory course named “Foundation Year” in a.y. 2018/2019, the University for Foreigners in Siena will again offer the course in academic year 2019/2020.

In light of the agreement with the University of Siena, the “Foundation Year” is an entry path for study at the University of Siena, in particular in the fields of economics, science and the humanities.

The preparatory course enables students who completed studies in educational systems that differ significantly from the Italian one to access academic study programmes in Italy: students will not only improve their language proficiency but also acquaint themselves with teaching and study methods traditionally adopted in European contexts. The “Foundation Year” is tailored for international students with less than 12 years of schooling who wish to enrol on first cycle degree programmes at Italian universities and for all those who must integrate their academic studies prior to enrolment in Italian universities.

The calendar of activities for A.Y. 2019/2020 is:
